Dick Wise was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for
services to UK business interests in the USA. It's good to see Dick's
long term and conscientious work at Dunsfold and Kingston on Harrier
projects bearing fruit in his subsequent career with BAe/BAES at Warton
and in the USA. Congratulations from your old colleagues, Dick!

relatives and many friends.
Our very best wishes to Ralph Hooper
who underwent a hip replacement in October. I am very happy to report
that the patient is doing well.

KINGSTON
AVIATION HERITAGE MEMORIAL PROJECT
A Planning Application for the curved stainless steel column and Hunter
model has been submitted to the Kingston Council. The memorial is to be
sited at the Kingston side of the town bridge.
If a positive
result is announced in November, that will be a major achievement; but
the project will come to nothing without money. Les Palmer is in charge
of fund raising and now needs your help and support. Please call him on
01784 460418 or approach him at the next Meeting.
If you want to see
'Hawkers' remembered, here is your opportunity to make sure it happens
by helping with the fund raising admin. No helpers; no money; no
memorial
