During Chris’s Royal Air Force service he took off, flew and landed Hawker 2-seat Hunter TMk7 XL623.  The opportunity has arisen that he can see it finally landed, and back at its place of manufacture.

Chris will cover the background and the activity to date on the rescue of this last Hunter TMk7 XL623. He’ll explain the ambition to display it in Kingston so as to mark the presence in the town of one of the world’s most significant aircraft design and manufacturing companies.

The talk will cover how the Hunter XL623 project started, how far it has got, and what will happen next with some provisional information on where the aircraft will be displayed.

2023 is an important year for the project as the preparation of the aircraft is progressing well, and significant milestones expect to be reached in the arrangements for the installation in the proposed site opposite the old Hawker factory on Richmond Road.
